Hi Mack! Being the new in class is an inevitable experience. You learned mastering those situations in your young ages. I guess you benefit from that today.

Well said Mack. I can relate to this. My family moved around during high school. For me, it was the culture shock of going from the New Jersey/New York area to Mississippi. Genuine communities are lacking today. I see way too many one-sided (or broadcasting) posts from people or entities.

Hey Vic, wow that’s an interesting story, thanks for sharing. I do think moving from NJ/NY to Mississippi as a kid would be easier than moving from MS to NJ/NY! Appreciate you sharing and commenting!

Absolutely. I can’t imagine what it would be like for a high school kid to go from MS to NJ/NY.

I completely agree! Today, community building can be more effective than traditional advertising (Ex. a TV commercial).

Side note: the artists shown in the featured image are actually some of my favorite DJs!

I loved this article! We moved a lot when I was a kid and my sister and I were always "the new kids"...so I really related. And since my business is a language school community is huge...after all communication is literally something that happens in a community....and language is a form of communication. We teach one on one classes and they are online now. I used to have monthly parties when we met in person....but haven't found an online version....if you have any ideas I would love to have them. Thank you for the inspiration!

Hi Melissa! Sorry you and CK had to be the ‘new kids’ too. Have you thought about having a monthly chat in Slack for your group? Or a Zoom call for everyone?
