Can't wait for the Marketing and Movies series! You've got some great movies on the list. Ford vs Ferrari is one of my new favorites. The Interstellar review will be verrrry interesting, I'm sure. 😜 Thank you for sharing your recommendations on upping our game here on Substack!
Ohhhh, an oldie but a goodie. I have the soundtrack on CD. 😅 You know, in my opinion, the soundtrack is what made that movie… perhaps there is something there about marketing lessons. 🤔
Thanks for sharing such a detailed breakdown of your Substack journey bro! It's cool to see the behind-the-scenes numbers and your thought process as you navigate this platform. These articles help me tremendously!
I love how transparent you are about both the wins and the challenges. That initial surge at the beginning of August must have been exciting! It's always interesting to see how growth can come in spurts rather than a steady climb. Even if you're not hitting that second phase as quickly as you'd hoped, it seems like you're laying a solid foundation. I think you're doing great, and nope, I'm just not saying this.
Looking forward to seeing where you're at in another month!
Great insights as always Mack! A solid reminder to me that I need to focus on engagement as well, as that's the one thing that's the easiest to forget. Also, have added you to my recommended list!
Don't worry, Mack. August brought less results for me, too. September will be better!
I had about 250 subscribers in the first month; after two months, I had 365. What did I do differently? One of the two free weekly editions went to pay, and I was less present on Notes. The result is twice as weak; it makes sense.
I'm happy when the result makes sense (whether good or not) because then I can do something.
fascinating read and like the transparency- the episodic set up got my interest. gonna consider that one. good job with the outreach . found ya!
Hi Megan! Thanks so much for the thoughtful comment! Looking forward to getting to know you more through your writing. Have a wonderful week!

Hi Lisa! Ford vs Ferrari was such a good movie and one of the strongest for business lessons.
The one movie not on the list that I want to figure out a way to include is Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? Lol

Yes, Oh Brother has a wonderful soundtrack, I think I have it as well! I’ll think about it, surely there’s something there :)
Well done Mack
Hey, thanks Colin!
