I love this, Mack! I've never heard of Sarah McLachlan, but I love her voice and, most of all, her character! She chose to serve others first. It's about the people she was helping. What a great reminder of a servant's heart. What a legacy this is. I love people like Sarah.

Thank you! Sarah is wonderful. My two favorite albums of hers are Fumbling Toward Ecstasy and Surfacing.

Her first big hit was Possession. Very dark lyrics compared to her other songs. It turns out she took the lyrics from letters that a stalker had been writing her! He was arrested and then that song became her first Billboard 100 hit and really launched her international career. Always thought it said a lot about her character that she used that event and turned it into a positive.

Even though I’ve never heard of Sarah, this is a good reminder to put our customers at the heart, not ourselves. Thanks for sharing Mack.

I love this Mack! Thanks for sharing. We can all learn from Sarah’s brilliance. She chose to make it about serving rather than about her ego and ultimately was rewarded for this. Creating and marketing from a genuine service based intention is definitely the way to go. If we all did that imagine the impact we could all have on the world around us ✨

Wonderful points, Hege! I agree completely, reminds me of the Bible verses that say those that humble themselves will be exalted.

I absolutely Fu*king love this one Mack! In a world where a gang of blood-sucking, money grabbing villains are trying to shaft everyone for their own benefit… I needed to be reminded of Sarah’s character. Thanks 🤘🏻😎

Sarah flipped that script.

She didn't make it about her.

She made it about the people she was helping.

She showed us how small actions (and a little money) can make a huge difference. And honestly, that’s way more powerful than any flashy music video could’ve been. I miss people like Sarah :(

Thank you for putting this together bro :)

Thank you for reading and sharing, sis! Apparently Sarah is still touring! Or at least she did last year. I’ve never seen her in concert, it’s on my musical bucket list. Happy Thursday!

I remember when she did that. It's powerful in all the right ways. Thanks for reminding us that there's more to life than making a bunch of money.

Thanks for reading, Paul! The irony is, getting a Grammy nomination no doubt led to more money for Sarah!

This was beautiful, and I did not know this story (but now I do!). Thank you for showing what is possible. We need stories to buoy us up these days, for sure.

Thank you, Hans! I think it’s a great reminder of how much more powerful a story can be when you put the focus on someone else rather than yourself.

I remember that video—so simple yet so powerful. It really goes to show that sometimes the best way to receive good karma is to put it out there.

Good morning Bette! I agree and I also think this is a great message for marketers and brands: Sometimes your message carries further if you let the story you are trying to tell be the star.

Morning Mack. I think it's a similar concept in how things that sometimes go viral are those people come up with without giving much thought to them.
