Once again, really useful insights Mack! Also going to have to rewatch that movie - a pivotal moment in my youth :-))

One day Pan Pastels will sponsor me - they're the biggest product placement on my art journey - the thing with one day is I never know which decade its coming in

Hopefully they will, David! Are they aware you use their products?

I doubt it Mack - they are more an Instagram crowd and I can only manage a couple of social media channels at a time - I suspect if I was a better artist they might - its okay my focus is on creating art at the moment - the other streams of revenue can only be enable by a portfolio of work

Great read, as always, Mack! The Trans-Am was a character in its own right. And you nailed the key to great product placement. It has to enhance the story, not just exist in the background. That’s a solid takeaway for sponsorships, too. If it adds real value, it’s a win for everyone. Looking forward to your next piece on the Unplugged era!

PS 1977 was a great year. I dunno - my mom said it was, so it must be true lol

My brother and dad loved that movie, and we used to watch it as a family. I didn’t realize the impact it had on car sales, but I can definitely see why!

I'm guessing that was the car to have at every high school parking lot in 1977!

Yeah and probably even well after that! One of my brothers buddies had a Trans Am in the late 80s. My brother was all about his Monte Carlo.

One of my buddies in HS had a coupe Cavalier that same color. I actually liked the color!

That was a great car! My only car in the 80s was a POS Ford Tempo! Talk about a lemon!
