Here's the Framework I've Used to Secure $37,000+ in Content Sponsorships
Announcing my first digital products!
In October of 2010, Headway Themes sponsored #Blogchat on X/Twitter. I didn’t realize it at the time, but this was a historic moment. It was the first time a Twitter chat had brought on a sponsor. Ever.
This was also my first experience creating sponsored content. Over the last 15 years, I have brought on sponsors for my content on X/Twitter, my blog, and my podcast. I’ve brought in sponsors for live events at venues such as South By Southwest and the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame.
All total, I've generated approximately $37,000 in revenue just from sponsored content.
The crazy part? I have never pitched a company on sponsoring my content. Well other than the one time that the Dr Pepper Twitter account dipped into #Blogchat and I invited them to sponsor and they didn’t reply.
That means every sponsorship dollar I have created has come from companies reaching out to ME asking if I would allow them to sponsor my content.
Which is great for me, because I hate pitching sponsors. I can do it, but I hate it. I bet you do too.
So I decided to create an ebook that goes into the process I use for landing sponsorships. It is titled The $37,000 Sponsorship Framework, and you can find it on my Gumroad store.
The $37,000 Sponsorship Framework has 25 pages and breaks down:
How to structure your sponsorship offer
How to price your offer
How to quickly and easily find potential sponsors (This alone is worth the cost of the ebook)
How to turn a sponsorship into a recurring revenue stream for you
Here’s a sneak peek at the Table of Contents:
I will be launching sponsorship packages for Backstage Pass on October 1st. Those packages will be created using the same framework I walk you through in this ebook.
I will be launching a new digital product every month on my Gumroad store. These products will be the same tools I use every day to grow my business.
When I committed to building an online store for digital products, the last thing I wanted to do was simply write a bunch of how-to guides. That’s an incredibly saturated market and others have done a better job than I could.
Instead, I wanted to take the actual tools and frameworks I use, the ones with proven value, and sell those. For example, instead of writing another guide on getting sponsors, I decided to detail the very process I have used to get $37,000 (so far) in sponsorships.
Maybe it’s just my INTJ nature, but this is how I learn. Don’t tell me how to do it, show me how it’s been done. Then it will make sense to me.
Which is what I will be doing with my digital products: Give you the real results I got from using the tool, then walk you through why it worked, and why I got the results I did.
Here’s the end result, here’s how I got there. Here’s how you can do the same.
That’s how I learn best, and I think it will be a huge help to you as well.
If you have been considering selling sponsorships as a revenue stream for your content, then The $37,000 Sponsorship Framework is for you. It’s 25 pages and costs $34.
And as a special Thank You to my annual paid subscribers, I’m sending each of you a free copy of The $37,000 Sponsorship Framework. Check your email later today. Thank you for your support, this is a small way I can help support each of you back.
See you on Thursday!

My 13th Month Publishing on Substack: Here's What I Learned
Happy Tuesday, y’all! I’m now officially into my 2nd year publishing on Substack. Another month with slow, but steady growth. I also have some news about a new offering I will have soon at the end of this article.
Nice work on the set up of the program Mack! Looks great!
Okay but wait........you got Dr Pepper to dip into #Blogchat and didn’t land them?? That’s legendary in its own right 😂 Anything that skips cold pitches is worth its weight in soda or gold.
I know you've been working so hard on this so congrats to you bro.
